Lenses, Swirly Swirls, and a World of Green

Sometime, I don’t know, maybe two months ago now(?), I contacted one of the models I’ve shot previously about shooting again. Both super excited about shooting together again. So then we started planning. And I’m super, super stoked about what’s going down. And then I said, hold up, let’s wait until I get these new lenses in.

So they’re in. Mostly. I kind of accidentally ordered the wrong lens (Pentax Super Takumar 35mm f3.5 ) so I just ordered the one I meant to get (Pentax Super Takumar 50mm f2). On the fence about whether to keep the 35mm. It’s beautiful and I really like the way it shoots. I’m just not sure how much shooting I’ll do at that focal length. I think I’ll keep it for a while and just shoot with it and see.

The last lens I was waiting on was a Helios 44m-4 58mm f2. It showed up a couple of days ago. Meeting up with a model on Saturday to take some test shots with this and the Canon FD 24mm. Probably a great time to test out the 35mm as well.

And that’ll be great because I’ve realized there’s no value in testing on foliage. It just doesn’t translate. But I can tell you, I’m already loving that swirly swirl bokeh in even such simple photos as these. 🙂

Definitely more pronounced with more reflected or pointed light.

Side note: lots of green in my world right now. Should probably look into that. I want to get the blue back up in this world, though. Green is fine. But I need my blue. 🙂
