Amber

Amber’s shoot was a great one-off shoot. I was back in the states, having returned from Costa Rica and was temporarily living in North Carolina while I recuperated from dengue fever. Was getting cabin fever and somehow I connected with Amber. Can’t remember if I found her or she found me but either way, I drove about an hour and a half to this small town to shoot her. She had this awesome space in the building where she lived so we ended up doing the shoot there. Absolutely lovely human. Great model.

This was an interesting period for me in that I was shooting with a broken but functional Canon 5D MKIII. Autofocus was dead and I was shooting everything in manual focus. And even with the diopter dialed in to my vision, I had a difficult time getting focus. Still, a couple of these shots are among my favorites.
